The Canadian North is rapidly changing and opening up as a result of climate change coupled with an increased global demand for natural resources. This increased activity and development creates huge opportunities for both the residents and businesses in the North, but also for all of Canada and Canadians who derive their wealth from the resource riches of Canada.
However, with opportunity comes risk and responsibility. While it’s opening up, the north remains and will remain a vast, remote, harsh and fragile environment which must be respected and protected.
